Grant for Project Implementation (Statewide)
Department of Hawaiian Home Lands
The buyer is seeking grant proposals statewide to support new projects, programs, and services for HHCA beneficiaries. Proposed projects should improve, strengthen and/or expand existing homestead services to support healthy and thriving native Hawaiian homestead communities. Partnerships and teams consisting of DHHL beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries are encouraged to apply. Projects must be beneficiary-driven and provide benefits to DHHL homestead lessees. The buyer will provide funding for a 6-year grant period.

- 10/17/2024 - Optional Orientation Session 2
- 10/22/2024 - Deadline to Submit Questions
- 10/24/2024 - DHHL's Response to Questions
- 12/2/2024 - Proposal Due Date
- Demonstrate majority of current clients/participants are native Hawaiian beneficiaries of HHCA
- Have IRS tax-exempt nonprofit status and be registered to do business in Hawaii
- Provide Certificate of Vendor Compliance issued by State of Hawaii
- Have current DHHL land disposition if applicable and be compliant with terms
- Improve, strengthen and/or expand existing homestead services
- Implement projects that benefit DHHL Lessees
- Conduct community outreach and obtain beneficiary input
- Track and verify homestead lessees served by the project
- Submit quarterly reports and financial reports
- Make presentations to the Commission on project progress
- Prepare a community outreach plan
- Collaborate with homestead community-based associations and other organizations
- Develop a sustainability plan for the project
- Manage grant funds responsibly and expend funds promptly
