Bay Area Air Quality Management District

Buyer is offering grants to community-based organizations to build capacity for participation in air quality improvement efforts. The program aims to support communities most impacted by environmental injustices. Buyer seeks to fund projects that will reduce air pollution, improve public health, and increase community engagement with the Air District's work. Preference will be given to projects serving environmental justice communities within the Bay Area.

• California community-based organization with 501(c)(3) status
• California 501(c)(3) organization as Fiscal Sponsor partnered with community-based organization

• Design and implement community organizing strategies around air quality issues
• Support full involvement of communities impacted by environmental injustices
• Provide resources for meaningful participation in environmental health decisions
• Conduct community needs assessments related to air quality
• Develop leadership and facilitate community mobilization on environmental issues
• Create partnerships with other community organizations and public agencies
• Measure and evaluate project success and community impact
• Submit regular progress reports and a final project summary
• Acknowledge DISTRICT support in promotional materials
• Maintain adequate financial management system for grant funds
