Buyer seeks to fund translational research projects in spinal cord injury. Buyer aims to accelerate the translation of basic findings into clinical benefits for spinal cord-injured persons. Buyer will support projects that advance early translational findings into mid/late-stage translational and pre-clinical research. Buyer encourages applications that include or lead to Phase I and Phase II clinical trials. Buyer requires detailed translational plans from the starting point to envisioned patient health outcomes.

- Principal Investigator must not be a postdoctoral fellow or dependent research staff
- Application must not propose support for a research center or Phase III clinical trial
- Conduct translational research on spinal cord injury treatments
- Develop clinical applications for spinal cord injury cures
- Validate and optimize devices and technologies for treating spinal cord injury
- Conduct Phase I and Phase II clinical trials
- Collaborate with research institutions, businesses and regulatory agencies
- Develop commercialization plans for spinal cord injury treatments
- Implement GMP, GLP, GCLP and GCP compliance standards
- Establish quantifiable milestones and decision points
- Provide patient monitoring beyond the contract term if conducting clinical trials
- Prepare progress reports and a final cumulative report
