The buyer seeks local community-based organizations to conduct outreach and host events on food waste prevention and waste reduction. The contracted organizations will provide services in English, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Khmer languages. They will review existing outreach materials and provide feedback. The goal is to increase waste reduction, waste diversion, and recycling in Long Beach through culturally appropriate and accurately translated information.

• 1/14/2025 - 2nd Optional Pre-Proposal Virtual Meeting
• 1/23/2025 - Questions Due to the City
• 2/20/2025 - Proposal Due Date

• Be a community-based organization located in or near Long Beach
• Ability to fluently speak, read, and write proposed target language(s)
• Commitment to host all contract-related events within Long Beach city limits
• Qualification to conduct business in the City
• Not having been debarred by Federal, State or local government

• Review and provide feedback on City's existing outreach materials
• Host educational outreach events on food waste prevention and waste reduction
• Provide outreach in English, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Khmer languages
• Track attendee information and metrics for events
• Promote waste reduction outreach events to target communities
• Incorporate community-informed messaging tailored to target audiences
• Prioritize outreach to disadvantaged census blocks
• Create list of translated solid waste and recycling terms
• Support community meetings for additional resident feedback
• Report on progress and performance metrics to the City
