Pre-Employment Transition Services to Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired

The buyer seeks to establish a contract for pre-employment transition services to students who are blind and visually impaired. Services include work-based learning, workplace readiness training, self-advocacy instruction, job exploration counseling, and post-secondary education counseling. - Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with 3 years experience working with high school students
- At least one staff member with specialized qualifications in working with visually impaired students
- Formal training in working with students with disabilities in transition
- Experience working with state agencies serving individuals with disabilities
- Provide work-based learning experiences and internships through virtual and residential programs
- Deliver workplace readiness training through workshops and retreats
- Offer instruction in self-advocacy skills
- Conduct job exploration counseling sessions
- Provide counseling on postsecondary education opportunities
- Implement student-centered planning process
- Engage in continuous improvement and innovation strategies
- Partner with community organizations to enhance student experiences
- Participate in professional development to build staff capacity
- Hold regular meetings with DBVI representatives to review progress
