The buyer is seeking proposals for legal counsel to provide general legal representation, including special education law and collective bargaining law. • Provide legal advice on employment law, including disciplinary proceedings and discrimination investigations
• Represent the District before various boards, courts, and administrative agencies
• Handle student matters, including discipline and superintendent hearings
• Advise on federal and state special education laws and procedures
• Conduct appeals to the Commissioner of Education
• Provide legal counsel on construction, real property, contract, and general municipal law
• Develop personnel policies and employment handbooks
• Conduct training on topics like sexual harassment and ADA
• Attend meetings as requested by the Board of Education or Superintendent
• Provide annual status reports on all pending legal matters
