The buyer is seeking proposals for Medical Director Services to provide medical consultation and advice related to the provision of county health services. The Medical Director will evaluate medical services, monitor disease statistics, advise on protocols, and consult with physicians. The contract term is for an initial five years with possibility of renewal.

• Possession of license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State
• Board-certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Infectious Disease medical specialty

• Provide medical oversight of agency policies and procedures
• Evaluate public health needs through review of surveillance data
• Review and supervise services provided by Health Department staff
• Develop standards for appointing and credentialing medical staff
• Oversee quality assurance program for the Department
• Provide direct patient care as needed
• Function as Laboratory Director for Diagnostic and Treatment Center
• Coordinate epidemiological research analysis of community health status
• Consult on collection and analysis of program statistics
