Alabama Historical Commission

The buyer seeks a contractor to develop a comprehensive Statewide Historic Preservation Plan for 2025-2035. The contractor will review the current plan, conduct public outreach, assess historic resources, analyze trends, and draft new goals and objectives. • Meet Secretary of Interior's Professional and Qualification Standards
• Knowledge of Alabama history and historic preservation best practices
• Strong experience in preservation planning
• Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to travel within Alabama

• Review current State Plan
• Develop planning process and public outreach plan
• Conduct broad-based public participation through surveys
• Assess historic and cultural resources statewide
• Analyze social, economic, political, legal, and environmental trends affecting historic resources
• Draft new goals and objectives
• Prepare draft and final State Plan documents
• Coordinate with AHC staff and National Park Service
• Provide quarterly progress reports
• Develop bibliography and glossary for the State Plan
