The buyer seeks ambulance billing services for its emergency medical service. The service performs approximately 7,000 transports annually. The buyer requires a billing agency with experience in municipal ambulance billing, capable of processing claims to various insurance carriers, and compliant with all relevant regulations. The contract will be for a three-year period from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028.

• Minimum five Rhode Island municipalities or ambulance services as clients
• Dishonesty bond of $500,000 and errors and omissions bond of $2,000,000
• Licensed as a collection agency under Rhode Island laws
• Software and staff trained for NEMSIS compliant EMS data file import
• Active internal quality assurance program and annual compliance audit
• Experience in submitting combined BLS/ALS ambulance claims

• Provide ambulance billing services for approximately 7,000 annual transports
• Process claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance carriers
• Perform 100% audit of Medicare claims for signature requirement compliance
• Provide secure FTP site for data file transfers
• Offer web-based reporting system for client access
• Implement deductible management services to maximize collections
• Provide toll-free number for town and citizen inquiries
• Reconcile ambulance account on a monthly basis
• Submit combined BLS/ALS (two-tiered) ambulance claims
• Handle waiver requests and abatements per town policy
