Buyer seeks a contractor to serve as Director of Aviation and Aerospace Industry Development. The contractor will work under the Business Recruitment & Attraction Team to develop and implement strategies for aviation and aerospace business attraction. Buyer requires a comprehensive aviation business attraction strategy and representation at industry events. The position focuses on strengthening Kansas' status as the Air Capital of the World.

• Five years experience in applicable industry preferred
• Must be based in metro area with daily flights to Kansas City
• Must exclusively represent the State of Kansas during contract period

• Develop strategies to attract aviation and aerospace businesses to Kansas
• Build aviation ecosystem through collaboration with stakeholders
• Serve as primary liaison for aviation business attraction projects
• Represent Kansas at trade shows and industry events
• Engage with industry leaders and site selectors
• Manage recruitment projects from start to finish
• Work with economic development organizations on project requirements
• Become proficient in state incentive programs
• Develop relationships with site location consultants and companies
• Coordinate with marketing team to plan sector events
